San Mateo, Calif., – Included in the two-day program of the upcoming 2007 edition of 6Sight ®, The Future of Imaging Conference will be a stellar panel of leading industry analysts, who will share their forecasts and perspectives on the digital imaging market – digital cameras, digital video, cameraphones, printing services, displays, and more. In addition to Future Image analysts Paul Worthington and Tony Henning, the Analyst Roundtable will feature Ron Glaz, Program Director, Digital Imaging Solutions & Services at IDC; Steve Hoffenberg, Director of Consumer Imaging Research at Lyra Research Inc.; Marion Knoche, Division Manager, Imaging and Optical Products with GfK Marketing Services GmbH; Gary Pageau, Association Publisher, Content Development and Strategic Initiatives at PMA; and Ed Lee, Director, Consumer Services and Digital Photography Trends Service at InfoTrends. The 6Sight conference takes place at the Monterey Conference Center in Monterey, Calif., Nov. 8-9.

The panel discussion will be chaired by Kristy Holch, founder of InfoTrends and one of the foremost imaging industry researchers who is now an independent writer for Consumer Electronic News. “I have heard about the success of the 6Sight conference and wanted to be part of the contribution this conference is making to the future of imaging,” says Holch. "It's a pleasure to be involved with 6Sight, an exciting forum that seeks to keep the focus on imaging innovation through idea exchange and networking among industry executives."
“As we see imaging shaping the future of communications, it is important to track our success to date and size future opportunities,” says Alexis Gerard, president of Future Image, chair of 6Sight and author of “Going Visual.” “We’re excited to have the preeminent research firms tracking the imaging industry give their views on sizing our industries. 6Sight will provide a forum to compare and contrast their predictions in order to help our attendees make decisions about their businesses as they move forward.”

The overarching theme of this year’s conference will be “Digital Eye, Visual Voice.” On day one, the Digital Eye sessions will examine technology developments that aim to capture and store data that faithfully reproduces the experience of human vision including ultra-high image quality, motion, depth and more. The day two Visual Voice sessions will focus on the explosive worldwide mainstreaming of image capture and communication, driven by miniaturization, decreasing costs and communication networks.

"IDC provides industry visionaries with the fact-based market insight and intelligence necessary for identifying emerging opportunities and developing future business strategies” says IDC Program Director Ron Glaz. “As digital imaging technologies, workflow, and process innovations continue to flourish – enhancing the consumer imaging experience – 6Sight provides IDC with a valuable forum to share industry insights to help guide the market."

"Having tracked and analyzed the consumer digital imaging market since its inception, Lyra is pleased to participate in an active discussion on where the market is headed next, says Steve Hoffenberg, Director of Consumer Imaging Research at Lyra. “6Sight is an outstanding forum for such a conversation."

“From InfoTrends’ perspective, the digital imaging market is moving into a new development phase, where telling stories with images becomes a key activity,” says Ed Lee, director at InfoTrends. “The 6Sight conference is an excellent venue for industry leaders and visionaries to collaborate on ways to help consumers do more with their images. InfoTrends looks forward to contributing its expertise and insights to the discussion.”
